Head over to The Stool Pigeon where you can get a listen to a nice half hour exclusive mix from Mo Kolours.

The mix is a must listen and the track selection is nicely varied, covering some invigorating, lesser known world rhythms along with some afro-beat, reggae, and hip-hop from music legends, George Duke, Tony Allen, Jimi Hendrix, Common and Jackie Mittoo. It must also be added that the most intriguing track in the mix is unfortunately “unknown” but simply beautiful to listen to. The mix is accompanied by an excellent interview where he speaks about the origins of his music style.

Wackies is a New York based independent record label and studio, specialising in reggae and dub. Although still officially active, its modern presence is largely due to a decade old series of reissues by Mortiz von Oswald and Mark Ernestus. The Basic Channel/Rhythm & Sound duo have remastered a significant amount of the Wackies back-catalogue, preserving these cherished recordings and widening their availability. In celebration of the project’s 10th anniversary, Globeats has selected ten classic Wackies cuts.
